While their GPL strategy will inhibit their ISV\/OEM adoption (amoung other reasons) they seem to be doing two things very very well:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Raising capital (through the divesture fund) for a major expansion\/run<\/li>\n<li>Assembling top talent<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>There has also been murmurs of some new products\/strategies, such as a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.computerworld.com.au\/index.php\/id;461924585;fp;16;fpid;0\">tightly coupled Ingres\/Linux<\/a> that will run on steel or in a VM.<\/p>\n<p>So I ask to those that know&#8230; Am I wrong on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bayontechnologies.com\/bt\/blog\/archives\/2006\/03\/rip_ingres.php\">future of Ingres<\/a>?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been watching some of the news lately from Ingres.
